Hamlin Meadows is a musical depiction of the Hamlin Reservation in Ipswich, Massachusetts- from the reeds of the salt marsh swaying in the breeze to the late summer's sun rays cutting through the Eagle Island's forest.

Hamlin Meadows, a Grade 3 work, plays comfortably by a community band or high school ensemble.  This work can be used to instruct ensemble participants in musical concepts such as syncopation, slurred articulation, and ensemble balance.  There are also clear connections to be drawn between the culture and geography of the Northeast, the agricultural history of the region and the attention in the present and future that needs to be given to preserve this important heritage.

Hamlin Meadows was commissioned and premiered by Nalani Fujiwara and the Ipswich Summer Band with generous support from the Ipswich Cultural Council.  The score features program notes and rehearsal suggestions, as well as artwork by artist Charli Herrington.
